Barcelona has handed their prized possession a brand new deal at Camp Nou. Spain international Pedri will now be at the club until 2026 and they've even slapped a ridiculous release clause on the youngster. Per Fabrizio Romano, it would cost a whopping $1 billion to lure him away from the La Liga giants:

While the brand new deal hasn't been signed yet, the player has agreed to terms with Barcelona. His current contract is set to expire next summer and it was seen as a priority to lock him down, considering he is one of the most important players to their squad.

Pedri was an absolute star this past summer with Spain, showing massive potential at Euro 2020 then also serving as a key piece to his country at the Tokyo Olympics. He's currently sidelined with a thigh injury after a football-filled last few months. Although just 18-years-old, Pedri made 52 appearances across all competitions in 2020-21 for Barcelona and has gone on to play 56 times for the Blaugrana already, scoring four times and tallying six assists.

The Catalans have struggled immensely to begin the campaign, currently sitting in eighth in the La Liga table and losing both of their Champions League group stage fixtures to Bayern and Benfica thus far. Hopefully, Pedri's return can help the side find their form.
