After picking up back-to-back wins following the October international break, Barcelona now turns its attention to the first El Clasico of the season, as it will host Real Madrid in La Liga play on Sunday.

In any El Clasico, there are a multitude of notable storylines to watch ahead of the fixture. This time around, much of the talk heading into this clash has centered on Barca's recent sluggish form. The Catalan powerhouse came into the October international break with a mere one win from its previous six fixtures, which included the lowly 2-0 La Liga loss to Atletico Madrid.

Even as Barca has failed to pick up a win in its last four El Clasicos, manager Ronald Koeman is still much confident in his team ahead of the clash with the club's longtime rival.

Following Barca's 1-0 UEFA Champions League home group stage win against Dynamo Kyiv, Koeman was asked on whether he sees that his side can clinch a win over Real Madrid in the upcoming matchday. The Dutch manager did not provide a vintage, detailed response but merely kept it simple.

“Yes, why not?,” Koeman said.

Koeman also took some time to highlight one area of play that he believes Barcelona improved on during the match against Dynamo Kyiv.

“We know that we are in a club where you have to play well, score goals and win games,” Koeman said. “But we also have to highlight our work without the ball, in which we have improved, and today we were not at our best, we would have won by at least three goals.”

A win for Barca in the upcoming El Clasico sure could be a season-changing one for the side.
