Pedri’s rise to being a regular at Barcelona has wowed many players of today and also legends of the past.

For former Barca star Ronaldinho, he has been much impressed with the rapid development of Barca’s coveted midfielder.

“There are a lot of high quality players in the squad, him too,” Ronaldinho told Barca TV. “He’s young with a lot of class and I hope he can make history in Barcelona.”

Ronaldinho made plenty of history while at Barca, which included leading the Catalan side to its second UEFA Champions League title two decades ago. While the former Brazilian international is not necessarily calling upon Pedri to go on and make such history at Barca, he sure sees much potential in the Spaniard.

Pedri is coming off of a stout performance in Barca’s La Liga victory over Sevilla, where he helped to anchor play in manager Xavi Hernandez’s midfield trio and also scored the game-winning goal of the match.

The job is not finished for Pedri and Barca this season, as they are in the midst of their UEFA Europa League quarterfinal tie against Eintracht Frankfurt and also have not yet clinched a spot in the top-four of the La Liga table. Barca will return to league play with the upcoming away encounter against Levante.
