Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez sees that his team’s crucial La Liga home win over Atletico Madrid could be just the result that can turn the tide on its season.

Barca notched arguably its most convincing win of the league campaign on matchday 23, as it picked up a 4-2 victory over Atletico Madrid. The Catalan side had keen performances across the board over the course of the fixture, from fullback Dani Alves turning back the clock with a two-goal contribution showing to the promising club debut from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

In the big picture, Xavi believes that this win could end up being a season-defining one for Barca, which he touched on during his post-match press conference.

“It could be a turning point,” Xavi said.

With plenty of fixtures remaining on Barca’s schedule this season, Xavi views that the job is far from finished, although he has seen promising developments with his side as of late.

“We have to keep working hard, it's been difficult, but we're turning things around,” Xavi said. “We're in the Champions League places now, but we have to keep going with this style of play.”

Barcelona now sits at fourth in the La Liga standings. The Catalan side will have multiple key fixtures upcoming over the remainder of the month, including its Europa League knockout stage clash with Napoli and the away league matchup against Valencia.
