Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland is widely expected to leave the Bundesliga giants this summer, with a number of European hotshots interested in services. Among them are Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Barcelona, with the Catalan club apparently feeling hopeful they can lure the Norwegian away from their La Liga rivals in the Spanish capital.

According to Marca, Joan Laporta has said to officials at Barca that he is confident he can sign Haaland in the next transfer window, despite the heavy interest elsewhere. However, this would likely be very tough for Xavi's side in terms of finances. Right now, they can't even register newly-signed Ferran Torres until the club sells a few different players. Of course, Barcelona was also forced to part ways with Lionel Messi because of their shocking money situation.

Haaland would undoubtedly be a game-changing addition at Camp Nou as he's currently one of the most lethal finishers on the planet. the 21-year-old has bagged 53 goals in as many appearances for Dortmund and truly looks to be the future of the sport alongside Kylian Mbappe.

Although Laporta and Barcelona are keeping their spirits high in the Haaland pursuit, Madrid cannot be ruled out. They're plotting a huge move both the Norway international and Mbappe, which would give Los Blancos the most prolific attack on the globe.

Barcelona could very well pull this off, but the club would first have to offload talent. Needless to say, it's going to be very interesting to see who wins the Erling Haaland sweepstakes.
