Bayern Munich may have to face the harsh reality that Robert Lewandowski will leave the club this summer. While it's not confirmed just yet, the latest reports point towards an exit from the Bundesliga giants for the superstar striker. If Lewandowski does end up getting lured away, with Barcelona listed as a possible landing spot, Bayern will have to fill the void he'll be leaving behind.

Replacing a player of Lewandowski's quality is no easy task, but unfortunately, that may be the situation Bayern finds itself in. If Lewandowski does want to leave, it's unlikely the club would deny him the opportunity to move on with his career, despite clearly wanting to keep him on board.

With all that in mind, these are the best options to replace Robert Lewandowski at Bayern Munich

3 best Robert Lewandowski replacements for Bayern Munich

3. Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez is set to be a free agent this summer after running out his contract at Atletico Madrid. While many deemed the MLS to be his likely destination, the Uruguayan international declared his desire to remain in Europe. Getting a player with his talent and experience would be a great way for Bayern to bridge the gap between Lewandowski and a potential striker of the future. While Suarez is no longer the player he once was, running alongside the esteemed playmakers that Bayern has on its roster could unleash a bit of his former glory.

This is by no means a long-term solution, but a one or two-year stint with Suarez could be just what the German side needs in order to get an experienced striker in the team for Champions League clashes.

2. Patrik Schick

The German international broke out this past season at Bayern Leverkusen, tucking away a career-high 24 goals in 27 matches. He was sensational for Leverkusen this year, and could be on the radar of some top clubs after his prolific goalscoring campaign. If Lewandowski leaves for a new challenge, Schick could be an ideal replacement, as he's clearly capable of handling the Bundesliga. At just 26, Schick is just entering his prime and could be a top striker for years to come if he's paired with strong playmakers.

After never having scored more than 10 goals in a Bundesliga campaign, Schick more than doubled that output in 2021-22 and could be an ideal candidate for Bayern if they do need to go after a striker this summer.

1. Sadio Mane

While Mane isn't a pure striker, he's certainly capable of occupying the position, and could be a lethal goalscoring threat paired alongside the likes of Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane, among others. Mane has enjoyed a terrific spell at Liverpool that has seen him rise to stardom as one of the biggest names in the sport. Across six seasons at Liverpool, Mane has featured in 195 matches and scored 89 goals, assisting 29. One of the most esteemed players in the world, Bayern would be hard-pressed to find a more capable player to fill the void left by Lewandowski.

Links between Mane and the German club have emerged of late, due to the fact that Mane has yet to sign a new contract with Liverpool, with his current deal set to expire in a bit over a year. Perhaps Liverpool will look to sell Mane this summer and avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer if he runs out his current contract. If he is available, Bayern needs to be the first ones in line to work out a deal.
