If it wasn't already clear that Robert Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern Munich, it sure is now.

With no new contract in sight and Barcelona waiting with a three-year deal, the Polish striker has sent a strong message to Bayern with his exit looming.

Via Fabrizio Romano:

“My era at Bayern is over. I don't see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore.”

“Bayern’s a serious club and I believe they won’t keep me, I don't want to play there anymore. A transfer is the best solution. I hope they don't stop me.”

Things sure went sour for Lewandowski in Germany. Despite having another fantastic campaign where he bagged 48 goals across all competitions, Bayern only won the Bundesliga after being shocked in the Champions League Round of 16 by Villarreal and bowing out early in the DFB-Pokal.

The Poland international was in search of a three-year extension, but due to Bayern's rules with players over 30, they weren't willing to award him that. Barca quickly took interest and Lewandowski is essentially sold on making the switch at this point.

It really seems like there is no way the Bavarians can keep him and thankfully, they have a potential replacement lined up. Sadio Mane announced on Sunday he will leave Liverpool this summer and he's been heavily linked to Bayern.

It's a shame Robert Lewandowski's eight-year tenure in the German capital will end on such bad terms, but he's evidently not happy anymore at the Allianz Arena. It's time for Bayern to fulfill his wish and let him move on.
