The Chicago Bears have played their home games at Soldier Field for decades and have watched legendary stars perform in the famous stadium. However, on Thursday, the team sent out a statement that could potentially hint at a possible departure and a new stadium in the future.

The Bears putting in a bid for property signals a move somewhere soon, and Bears fans have only known Soldier Field, having played there since 1971. A possible move to the suburbs would be extremely out of the ordinary, but the Bears said they have to “explore every possible option.”

Arlington Park, which currently holds horse races, is in its final year of operation before demolition. While the Bears lease doesn't run out until 2033, the organization is eyeing a possible land and perhaps considering building a state-of-the-art stadium. The Park is 30 miles from downtown Chicago.

The Los Angeles Chargers and Rams have a gorgeous SoFi Stadium, and the Las Vegas Raiders play their home games at Allegiant Stadium, and surely the Bears want a stadium like that.

Soldier Field is currently the smallest venue in the NFL per capacity, and with the huge fan base in Chicago, they could benefit from a bigger stadium.

The Bears put in a bid, and if they are successful, they could be playing their home games elsewhere in the future.
