Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery sent out a very cryptic tweet amid rumors the team was among the clubs pursuing Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.

Montgomery tweeted playing in Chicago “has been fun.” Might this be an indication he is part of a possible trade package for Wentz?

It had previously been reported that Tarik Cohen was the Bears running back to be in a package for Wentz, in addition to quarterback Nick Foles.

However, David Montgomery's tweet sparks talks as to whether he could be the member of the Bears backfield headed to the City of Brotherly Love.

For what it's worth, just hours after the tweet went viral, Montgomery noted that it has nothing to do with football.

The former Iowa State standout made big gains in his second season, rushing for over 1,000 yards and averaging 4.3 yards per carry. Montgomery especially thrived from Week 12 on, rushing for over 100 yards in three separate games and also developing as a big-play threat in the Bears' passing attack.

Montgomery finished the season with over 1,500 yards from scrimmage and 10 total touchdowns. He continued to prove himself capable of busting through tackles and gaining extra yards on the second effort. Montgomery ranked third in the NFL in broken tackles and 13th in yards after contact per attempt.

The Bears and Colts have been among the rumored suitors for Wentz. Mitchell Trubisky is a free agent, and Chicago has long been in search of a franchise quarterback under center.
