The Chicago Bears were one of the more pleasant surprises in the 2018 season, as they won the NFC North for the first time since 2010. The Bears were mostly known for their incredible defense this season, but things changed after a brutal playoff loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Kicker Cody Parkey's failure to convert the game-winning field goal, and it was a horrible way to end a great season. Parkey appeared on ‘TODAY' and talked about moving past the unfortunate moment.

According to JJ Stankevitz of NBC Sports, Bears head coach Matt Nagy was not pleased with Parkey's appearance on ‘TODAY.'

“For me, you understand that we always talk about a ‘we and not a me’ thing, and we always talk as a team, we win as a team, we lose as a team. You know, I just — I didn't necessarily think that that was too much of a we thing.”

Even Bears GM Ryan Pace addressed the situation as well and stressed how significant the place kicker position is for the team.

“That position is an emphasis for us. We understand we need to get better, get more production out of that position. Matt talks about it all the time: There’s so much parity in our league, so many close games, the kicker position is critical. We know we need to get better there and it’ll be an area of focus.”

The Bears may be looking to replace Parkey after he received obvious backlash for the missed kick and the interview. Chicago will look to bounce back next season after the tough loss. Unfortunately for Parkey, he may not be there for the Bears' brighter days.
