Mitchell Trubisky and the Chicago Bears are on the verge of clinching a playoff spot. After demolishing the Jacksonville Jaguars, the 8-7 team is now scheduled to play the Green Bay Packers this Sunday.

Trubisky took over the starting position from Nick Foles in Week 12. Since then, he has thrown for 1,243 yards with 10 touchdowns, along with winning the last three out of five games.

The Bears, who did not make the postseason last year and lost a devastating first-round playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles the year before, are looking to make it to the next round this season. However, before they even think about making a run in the playoffs, the city would like to see them clinch a playoff spot–which begins with the game against the Packers.

When asked about what the playoffs mean to Trubisky, he gave a rather passionate response.

“It means a lot…This is what we worked for, and no matter what happened throughout the course of this year, we always know there are going to be ups and downs – some very high and some very low – which we’ve experienced this season. And I’ve been there myself personally. But just to know that you can come out of that and there’s always going to be brighter days, you’ve just got to keep working and stay in the moment and that’s what we’re trying to do this week,” the Bears QB reflected, via Cam Ellis of NBC Sports.

Clearly, Mitchell Trubisky is ready to do everything in his power to catapult the Bears to the playoffs, even though his future with the team is uncertain.

“I won’t be thinking about that… I’ll be locked in and ready to go for the game. I’m excited about that opportunity,” Trubisky added regarding his future.
