The Milwaukee Bucks have contacted the San Antonio Spurs in order to interview assistant Becky Hammon for the role of general manager, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

If hired, Hammon could be in line to make history for a second time and becoming the first female to be hired to a front office executive role after being the first woman to net a coaching job in the NBA.

Despite having no prior experience at the executive level, she's gained plenty of grasp for the NBA game, working under head coach Gregg Popovich since her hiring in 2015.

The former San Antonio Stars point guard was an integral part of the franchise, averaging 13 points, 3.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals through her 15-year career in the WNBA.

Wojnarowski's report mentioned the Bucks plan to proceed with formal interviews starting Monday.
