Speculation is beginning to grow for who the Philadelphia 76ers will select with the first overall pick in this year's NBA draft. Ben Simmons of LSU is the early favorite, but Sixers head coach Brett Brown stated that their decision isn't close to being made.

In the eyes of Simmons' high school coach in Australia, it's a no-brainer.

Before Ben came to the states to play for Florida’s Montverde Academy, he attended Box Hill H.S. in Melbourne, Australia. His head coach there, Kevin Goorjian, spoke out about Simmons possibly being the first pick in the draft right after the lottery.

From Sacha Pisani of Sporting News, via Omnisport:

“He is going to be the best basketballer Australia has produced,” Goorjian, the brother of former Australia coach Brian Goorjian, told Omnisport on Tuesday. “There was a quote that came up that if you get the No. 1 pick and you don't take Simmons you should be fired.

“I'm totally behind that. He is the No. 1 pick. It's clear.”

Obviously Goorjian is pretty biased, but given the gifts that Simmons demonstrated briefly at the collegiate level, he's not necessarily wrong.
