The Cincinnati Bengals needed to play with a great sense of urgency on Monday night, as they were falling off the pace in the playoff race after losing three straight heading into their matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. And that's exactly what the Bengals did, with quarterback Jake Browning putting up the best game of his career to this point and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase just playing with more of an edge en route to a 34-31 win over the Jaguars in overtime.

While Browning will be the one to dominate the headlines, and deservedly so, especially when putting into perspective just how elite he was on Monday night, Chase also played his part to perfection, tallying 149 yards on 11 receptions, with one of those receptions being an incredible downfield connection with Browning leading to a 75-yard touchdown.

But beyond Ja'Marr Chase's stellar display on the field, he also made a concerted effort to be an annoyance, a thorn in the Jaguars' side by pulling off some “evil” antics to try and give the Bengals whatever advantage they could get in a matchup against the AFC South division leader.

“I said I was gonna do some a**hole s**t. Excuse my profanity again. I was just gonna be a jerk today. Take towels, do stuff. I just felt like being an evil person today. In pregame, I just told Tee [Higgins], I just felt like being evil today,” Chase told reporters in the locker room, via Mike Petraglia of CLNS Media.

It's hard to argue against the results of whatever “evil” Ja'Marr Chase was up to on Monday night; as long as he didn't hurt someone, then he was well within his rights to assert his dominance over whoever stood in his way. After suffering three straight defeats, the Bengals needed someone to light a fire, and perhaps that's what Chase did, although his actions came under the guise of “evil”.

Perhaps it'll be helpful if Chase maintains this “evil” disposition for the rest of the season, especially when the Bengals need every win they can get to insert themselves into the playoff picture.
