The Cincinnati Bengals are gearing up for their first Super Bowl appearance since the 1980s, having defied expectations week in and week out en route to their upcoming trip to LA. With a matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on the horizon in Super Bowl 56, the Bengals are hoping to be at full strength for the Feb. 13 clash. Well, star quarterback Joe Burrow has reportedly been dealing with a pinky injury throughout the past month. Burrow revealed the extent of his pinky injury, via Paul Dehner Jr., and it doesn't seem as if the ailment should present much of an issue.
Burrow revealed that he's been playing through the injury for upwards of a month, and described it as something he's “going to be dealing with for the rest of the season” or until he “gives it a break.” Fortunately, Burrow did mention that he doesn't notice the injury while throwing a football, but rather it impacts him during simple every day tasks.
Considering Burrow has been dealing with this injury throughout the Bengals' playoff run, there's no reason to expect it'll be impacting his performance in the Super Bowl. He's managed to dominate via the air against some of the league's premier defensive units, even while playing with a bum pinky.
The Rams' defense will be a tall task for Burrow to overcome, but as he's shown throughout the postseason, he's not worried about the Bengals' underdog status. Pinky injury or not, Burrow is going to come into SoFi Stadium and put up a fight.
