The Nets organization have one of the richer franchise histories in all of basketball. The franchise was originally the New Jersey Americans. Since then, they have changed to the New York Nets and New Jersey Nets before settling on their current name of the Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets have two ABA championships but zero NBA titles. The franchise has an overall record of 1,854-2,432 since 1967.

For this piece, we ranked the four best coaches in franchise history, starting off with a guy who only coached for two seasons but left his imprint on the organization.

4. Larry Brown

Brown coached the Nets in the 1982 and 1983 seasons. He won 91 games during the regular season but was never able to win a game in the postseason.

Brown has the sixth-most wins in franchise history for a coach and the third-highest winning percentage during the regular season. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a coach in 2002.

3. Lawrence Frank

Frank led the Nets for seven seasons and made the playoffs four times. He was able to win 18 games in the postseason during his time with the franchise. That's good for third in franchise history.

Frank finished his Nets career with an overall record of 225-241. He's second on the all-time wins list for Nets coaches and third in winning percentage in the postseason.

2. Byron Scott

Scott and Jason Kidd guided the Nets to back-to-back Finals appearances in 2002 and 2003. New Jersey got swept by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2002 Finals and fell to the San Antonio Spurs in the 2003 Finals in six games.

Those two teams will always be appreciated by basketball fans as a whole.

Scott racked up 149 wins with the Nets in the regular season and 25 in the playoffs. He's got the most postseason wins and the third-most regular-season wins.

1. Kevin Loughery

Loughery was the man in charge when the franchise won their two ABA championships in the '70s. He finished with 297 regular-season wins and 21 postseason victories. Loughery has the most wins for any Nets coach.

The New York Nets won the '74 championship after defeating the Utah Stars in the ABA Finals. Loughery and Co. won their second title in 1976 after taking down the Denver Nuggets in the championship series.
