This season, the Boston Celtics have definitely not had the success that they had hoped for. With a 27-25 record, they are currently the Eastern Conference's ninth seed, which is unacceptable for a Boston Celtics team. This is one of the most legendary NBA teams, therefore, every year in which they don't dominate the league, and win a championship, is a major disappointment to their fans.

One of the biggest reasons the Celtics are having trouble this season is that they didn't have enough CAP space last offseason to make a huge deal. The only thing they really accomplished was firing Brad Stevens and adding Dennis Schroder, who hasn't worked out as well as they had hoped.

According to recent rumors, the Celtics are interested in moving Dennis Schroder, and it makes sense from their standpoint. If the Celtics can get someone for him who can do many of the same things he does but at a higher level, it is something they should consider.

Let's take a look at some of the trades that the Celtics may benefit from if Dennis Schroder is traded.

While all of these deals may be difficult, some contending teams will overspend and will have to give back a large package owing to the players' salaries. Not all of these moves are likely, but competing clubs will try everything possible to improve, which might lead to some unusual deals, as we have seen in the past.

Best Trades The Celtics Must Make For Dennis Schroder

Celtics get: Donte DiVincenzo

Bucks get: Dennis Schroder

Now, this might not make a lot of sense from the standpoint of a fan, since providing both the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics someone who would assist them isn't something that either club would be interested in, especially when they could meet in the playoffs this season. Both of them are still two of the Eastern Conference teams that have a chance to play in the Eastern Conference Final if all goes right for them.

The Bucks are one of the apparent favorites in the Eastern Conference at the moment, while the Celtics aren't, but they still have some components and two stars in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown who might help them get there.

While Milwaukee may not want to deal Donte DiVincenzo to the Celtics to improve their team, this is a move that they should explore because they sorely need a backup point guard due to George Hill's poor performance this season. Milwaukee has had games where they have turned the ball over an excessive amount, and this is mostly due to their lack of a true point guard. Dennis Schroder is a player that could come off the bench for the Bucks and make a significant contribution.

Hawks get: Dennis Schroder

Celtics get: Lou Williams

This is an intriguing one that may not make sense from the Hawks' standpoint since they know what they'll get out of Lou Williams every night because he is so consistent while Dennis Schroder is difficult to say the same thing about. Given the fact that Dennis Schroder is significantly younger, the Hawks may consider doing so just because of that. This would also provide the Celtics with a veteran player who has demonstrated the ability to produce on the biggest stages of basketball, which is something they will need come playoff time.

Pacers get: Dennis Schroder

Celtics get: Justin Holiday

Justin Holiday is an intriguing player, and it may take more than Dennis Schroder to get a trade done for him in Boston. At this year's deadline, the Indiana Pacers will certainly be attempting to move practically their entire roster. For the Celtics, who have struggled to shoot the three-point shot, getting back Justin Holiday is something they'll want to do. Justin Holiday isn't the best fit for the Celtics, and he won't put them over the top to win an NBA title, but he does provide some excellent spacing to a team that desperately needs to make more three-pointers.

Spurs get: Dennis Schroder, Josh Richardson

Celtics get: Thaddeus Young

This may be the most intriguing one for the Celtics, and it could also capture the attention of the front office of the San Antonio Spurs. Thaddeus Young will provide the Celtics with high-level defense, which is something they also need. When you add in the fact that he can make the three-point shot at an above-average rate, he's virtually everything the Celtics could want.

They would have to give up Josh Richardson, which they may not want to do given his youth, but given the Celtics' roster and their goal to win a championship, this may be the wisest move for their future. Boston won't have time for many young players to continue to develop their game, but if they can obtain a veteran like Thaddeus Young for just Dennis Schroder and Josh Richardson, it's a trade worth considering.
