Why The Raptors Could Cover The Spread
The Toronto Raptors will get set to play their fifth game of the week and second game of a back-to-back. Despite the long week, the Raptors absolutely dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers yesterday. They pulled off the resounding victory without their three best players in Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry, and Fred VanVleet. You would've thought that they were conceding the game, but they still managed to put up 87 points in the first half.
Gary Trent Jr. has been an incredible story since being acquired by Toronto at the deadline. He has played in nine games for the Raptors, but hasn't had a chance to practice with his new squad yet because of their grueling schedule of late. He had a career game last night, dropping 44 points on 17-19 shooting from the floor and 7-9 shooting from deep. The Raptors have also seen impressive contributions from rookie Malachi Flynn, who had his first career double-double with 20 points and 11 assists in yesterday's win. Toronto has seen recent success against New York, going 9-1 in their last 10 games against the Knicks.

Why The Knicks Could Cover The Spread
The New York Knicks snapped a two-game losing streak with a huge comeback win against a hot Memphis Grizzlies team on Friday night. They won 133-129 in overtime despite trailing for most of the game and late in the fourth. The Knicks saw huge contributions down the line in the win. New York's performance was headlined by Julius Randle's fifth triple-double of the season. Randle delivered 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists for his club.
RJ Barrett continued his impressive sophomore season by adding 20 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Derrick Rose and Alec Burks each dropped 19 points of their own and Elfrid Payton was the fifth Knick to score in double-figures in the win. What was most impressive was that New York won this game despite playing poor defense throughout. Their league-leading defensive unit allowed Memphis to shoot 50% from the field and add a whopping 67 points in the paint. The Knicks' scrappiness has been put on full display of late as they are 4-1 ATS in their last five games.
Final Raptors-Knicks Prediction & Pick
The key to this game will be the health of the Toronto Raptors. Toronto will likely be without Fred VanVleet, Jalen Harris, and Paul Watson yet again. Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam are likely to return, but are still hobbled and haven't seen the court much lately. The Raptors are also 1-9 in the second leg of back-to-backs, which isn't promising to say the least. The Knicks are riding a ton of momentum after the huge win against Memphis and the defense should have a huge bounce-back performance against a below-average Raptor bunch. This is a good value spot for the better team playing at home with a huge rest advantage.
FINAL PICK: New York Knicks -2 (-113)
