The Colorado Rockies take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. Our MLB odds series has our Rockies Dodgers prediction and pick. Find out how to watch Rockies Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are 37-23 through 60 games. That's not bad at all. If they go 37-23 in their next 60 games, they will be 74-46 through 120 games, very much on schedule to finish with more than 95 wins and very likely earn a top-two seed in the National League playoffs, which is the main goal of the regular season. The Dodgers want to have nothing to do with the short wild card series, even though playing in that series would remove the layoff which — in the opinion of many analysts — has hurt Los Angeles in the playoffs the past few years. The Dodgers aren't having a bad season. The New York Mets are. The Cincinnati Reds are. The Toronto Blue Jays are.
Yet, this doesn't look like a team which is ready to win a World Series. The Dodgers' batting order has a lot of holes after Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman at the top of the order. If the top three hitters aren't hitting, this team is extremely vulnerable and is unlikely to deliver the goods on offense. The Dodgers need to find better answers in the middle and bottom of their order. They will need to make a deal for a high-impact bat at the trade deadline. Right now, they don't have a deep enough batting order to be fully ready for October. The record looks good, but the team has not been as impressive as many expected or hoped in L.A.

Why The Rockies Could Cover The Spread
The Dodgers are just not hitting at the level many expected from them. They have not been able to score a lot against Colorado pitching in this series, posting a total of five runs in two games. The Rockies have contained Los Angeles's bats, and now Austin Gomber goes to the mound for Colorado. He has been really good over the past month, part of the Rockies' rebound from an absolutely brutal 25-game stretch to start the season. Colorado was atrocious in April but was far better in May. This team looks like a professional ballclub now, something which couldn't be said in mid-to-late April. The Rockies are playing better, like a team which deserves to be taken seriously.
Why The Dodgers Could Cover The Spread
The Dodgers have their superstars at the top of the order. They have not been very good in this series. This team has too much offensive talent to continue to struggle at the plate. The pitching has been very good for Los Angeles, so as long as the offense can score at least five runs, that should be enough to cover at minus-1.5 runs on the run line.
Final Rockies-Dodgers Prediction & Pick
The Dodgers are likely to win this series against the Rockies, so you should pick them in the rubber game of the series. It's as simple as that.
Final Rockies-Dodgers Prediction & Pick: Dodgers -1.5
