Why The Royals Will Cover The Spread/Win
Cole Ragans is going to be a top-5 candidate for American League Cy Young. He is having a fantastic season, and that is expected to continue in this game. Ragans is a big strikeout pitcher, and the Tigers are a team that will strike out. In fact, Ragans has already faced the Tigers this season, and he struck them out 12 times. He led the Royals to a win in that game, and he allowed just one hit. The Royals are in a good position to win this game with Ragans in this game.
Kansas City needs to stay locked in during this game. Tarik Skubal is a very good pitcher, and he is going to be tough to beat. The Royals have gotten to him once this season. In fact, it was the game Ragans pitched, as well, so this matchup has already happened. The Royals scored four runs on six hits in that game, and beat the Tigers. If they can have another game like that, the Royals will win.
Why The Tigers Will Cover The Spread/Win
Tarik Skubal is the favorite to win the American League Cy Young this season. He is having an incredible season. Skubal, as mentioned, has been roughed up by the Royals once this season. However, he was able to shut the Royals down at home, as well. In that game, Skubal threw seven innings, allowed just four hits, one run, and struck out six in the win for the Tigers. The Tigers should be able to win this game with Skubal on the mound Friday night.
The Tigers have to get to Ragans in this game. Ragans is coming off one of his rougher starts in his last game, so he is hittable. In fact, in his last two starts, Ragans has allowed seven runs and 14 hits. The Tigers need to put up runs like the opposing teams have off Ragan in the last two starts. If they can do that, Detroit should be able to win this game.

These two pitchers are going to make for a great game Friday night. I am fully expecting a pitcher's duel in this game. I am going to bet on Tarik Skubal in this game. He is the better pitcher right now, and I think he will lead the Tigers to a win.
