Houston Texans coach, and supposed quarterback whisper, Bill O'Brien is going to face a lot of scrutiny this week. Not only due to his team losing against the Seattle Seahawks despite a lead late in the game, but due to the fact he appeared to have choked as a play-caller down the stretch.

To his credit, Bill O'Brien is taking accountability for his iffy decisions near the end of the game.

“I’ve got to do a better job,” said the Texans head coach at his post game press conference. “Whenever we lose, it’s my fault. That’s the way I look at it. It’s not the players fault. Players played valiantly today. They played tough. They played hard. I have to do a better job, especially on the road. I just have to coach better.”

With Deshaun Watson having a literal historic day, O'Brien ignored his QB's hot-hand and decided to run the ball three times, in attempt to drain the clock, with Houston leading Seattle late. Even when it was third down, and the Seahawks stuffing the Texans on the previous two plays, the coach didn't even attempt a run-pass option with his rookie signal-caller.

Seattle ended up stopping Houston, then scoring late to win the game.

“It’s my fault.” continued O’Brien. “I made some bad play calls today, and I just have to do a better job on game day.”

“We have to attack,” said O’Brien. “If you enter a game and you dip your toe in the water, you’re probably not going to win that game anyway. So you might as well go in there and attack. And that’s what we do. That’s my philosophy. And that’s the players’ philosophy. Just didn’t do it enough today.”

Yes, O'Brien. Attack … with your electric, one-of-a-kind gunslinger!
