The Buffalo Bills' injury woes continued on Monday, as news broke that veteran tight end Dawson Knox, who has been dealing with a nagging wrist issue, will undergo surgery that will sideline him for an unspecified amount of time, league sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Knox initially suffered the injury during Buffalo's Week 5 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. He then popped up on the injury report in the lead-up to Weeks 5 and 6 but was able to suit up for the action.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott told the media “it's too early to say” how much time Knox will miss after the surgery, which opens up an opportunity for rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid.

Kincaid, a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has outpaced Knox in receiving yards on one fewer target.

While the Bills would prefer Kincaid receive a bigger opportunity in different circumstances, the injury to Knox will certainly allow the team to see what they have in the rookie.

It's been a rough season for Buffalo in terms of injuries, as they've lost key defensive contributors Tre'Davious White and Matt Milano for the season.

Buffalo fans can only hope that Knox's injury isn't a season-ending one.
