The Buffalo Bills' season ended in heartbreak in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs where both teams deserved to win.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott spoke out after the game, and how overcoming their demons, in the form of Patrick Mahomes, is a reality they must face if they want to make it to the Super Bowl.

“That’s the reality of the situation,” said the Bills coach. “We’ve gotta continue to work to beat him. That’s what great players do make great plays in great moments in big games.”
The road to the Super Bowl in the AFC was always going to go through the Chiefs. The Bills learned that last season during the AFC championship game, and they were reminded of that once again – but this time they seemed poised to come out on top but squandered a couple of chances to seal it on the defensive end.
“We're all hurt, sick to our stomach … it stings. I'm not going to sugarcoat it,” continued the Bills coach.
Buffalo's defense, which has been rock-solid all season long, just couldn't stop Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs from making the right plays at the right times, including getting into field goal range with just 13 seconds left from the backfield.
The Bills played their hearts out on Sunday night. They'll come back next season even hungrier to take down their vaunted AFC rivals.
