The offensive line was a priority for the Buffalo Bills to address and they meet that requirement early on in the 2022 NFL free agency. After being released by the Tennessee Titans, Rodger Saffold reaches a deal to go play with Josh Allen in Buffalo. It's a brilliant move that will only make Allen's life much easier while dropping back in the pocket.

According to Adam Schefter, Saffold signs with the Bills on the opening day of the legal tampering period. This is a big move for Buffalo, as they secure a legitimate left guard for the next season. The former pro-bowl guard now has the privilege to protect Josh Allen, who is one of the league's top quarterbacks.

The Titans released Rodger Saffold mainly due to cap space and injury concerns. He was unable to stay healthy throughout the last season, but he should be in a good place for the Bills after an offseason of rest. Regardless, Saffold is a bit older in age, so this still leaves the door open for Buffalo to draft an interior offensive lineman in the NFL Draft.

Basically, the front office has given itself a reliable player (when he's healthy) to keep the team competitive. Meanwhile, they can turn around and select Saffold's future replacement for the future. This signing is a brilliant move for the Bills, as it sets them up for the short and long-term.

Hopefully, Rodger Saffold can stay healthy and help the Bills' offensive line improve. He will be sorely missed in Tennessee as the Titans search for his replacement.
