Heading into the wildcard matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the bulk of the focus was on the health of Buffalo Bills star running back LeSean McCoy.

Despite dealing with an ankle injury, McCoy was able to play in Sunday's contest, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

McCoy suffered the ankle injury in the season finale win over the Miami Dolphins, forcing him to be carted off the field. The initially feeling was that he would not play in the wild card game, but he was able to practice on a limited basis during the latter portion of the week.

He stated on Thursday that his status for the game would be determined by his ability to make a cutting motion with his injured ankle. The fact that he was experienced no setbacks in practice ended up being a telling sign of his availability.

The Bills built the bulk of their offense around the 29-year-old over the last couple of seasons. He finished fourth in the league with 1,138 rushing yards while scoring six touchdowns on the ground. He also hauled in 59 catches for 588 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns through the air. Altogether, he ranked fourth in the NFL with 1,586 scrimmage yards this season, making him just the fifth player in franchise history to have multiple campaigns with at least 1,500 scrimmage yards.

His absence would've been a big loss for Buffalo given what he brings to both the running and passing game as a major game-changer in both part aspects of the offense. Without McCoy, the team would've shift to a running back by committee approach with Mike Tolbert and Marcus Murphy.

As we approach the end of the first half, McCoy has 12 carries for 36 rushing yards as well as three receptions for 20 yards.
