The Buffalo Bills were smothered in Week 13 by the formidable New England Patriots, 23-3. Aside from suffering their sixth loss of the season, the most irritating part of the game was superstar tight end Rob Gronkowski blatantly spearing cornerback Tre'Davious White in the head well after the whistle was blown.

Gronkowski received scathing criticism afterward and has since been handed a one-game suspension, which he is currently appealing. Meanwhile, former Bills players, like legendary quarterback Jim Kelley and safety Aaron Williams, are upset at the lack of retaliation from White's teammates after the hit.

However, head coach Sean McDermott rebuked their statements and was pleased with how his players handled it, according to Matthew Fairburn of nyup.com:

“That’s not what I saw,” McDermott said. “I saw something other than that. Those are your words, not my words. I know what I saw. I’m going to leave it at that. I know what I saw. And I’m also proud to a point of the poise that we showed. Thats important as we build this thing. We’re doing things the right way. The referees handle things and we have to play within the rules. We moved on.”

The hit itself triggered plenty of polarizing reactions. The consensus clearly agree that Gronkowski had no reason whatsoever to hit a defenseless player lying on the ground. However, some people don't have an issue with his actions.
