The Buffalo Bills season has been quite the roller coaster. A little over a month into the season, they were in first place and crushing opponents. They had just hammered the reigning AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs on the road and were flying high. Then the losses started coming. The Bills lost to the worst team in the NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars. They eventually fell out of first place, as the New England Patriots had passed them.

But after beating New England in the rematch last Sunday, the Bills re-took control of the AFC East race. They are currently the division leader. Bills All Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs shared exactly which game he felt helped Buffalo turn their season back around.

As noted by BillsWire reporter Nick Wojton, Diggs believes the loss to the defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers is what helped reverse course. “I feel like that Tampa Bay game got us back to where we needed to go as far as like… having confidence, playing free, playing like we know we can play… I feel like that’s the kind of team we had last year. This year, we kind of had ebbs and flows and a roller coaster. You don’t want to ride that roller coaster and we rode it a little.,” Diggs said.

During that game, the Bills trailed 21-3 and were reeling in the first half. They then stormed back and sent the game to overtime. Even though they eventually lost, their offense began to look the way it had last season and in the early part of this season.

The Bills control their playoff destiny. They finish the season hosting the Atlanta Falcons this week and then the New York Jets in Week 18. If Buffalo wins out, they win the AFC East and earn at least one home playoff game.
