Choosing to go on a purely vegan diet can be considered a huge change in someone’s lifestyle. While many have already done it, and have been successful in doing so, others can’t even imagine themselves trying it. One of them is Portland Trail Blazers guard Evan Turner, who made it known recently that he wants to remain eating meat.

The Ohio State product hilariously admitted, via Joe Freeman of The Oregonian, that if he had to choose between eating pizza when he reaches 75 years old, or stop it to prolong his life, he’d rather just risk dying young than giving it up completely.

Veganism is defined as the practice of abstaining from eating any animal products, and those who do are called vegans. According to the Vegetarian Times, there are approximately 7.3 million adults in the U.S. who practice this diet. They have various reasons for practicing it, and there has also been a rise in the number of restaurants and shops that only offer vegan-friendly food.

While it remains a choice for someone to practice it or not, it’s safe to say that Turner is not expected to try it anytime soon. For the Blazers fans though, they certainly wouldn’t mind what he eats, as long as he stays healthy and plays solid basketball for their team, who are once again looking to make the playoffs this coming season.
