Veteran forward Anthony Tolliver has agreed to a one-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the deal is worth $2.6 million.
Tolliver entered the NBA in 2008 as an undrafted prospect. An NBA journeyman, he has played for the San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons and the Sacramento Kings. This will be his second stint with the Blazers.
The 34-year-old has career averages of 6.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. He spent the past 2018-19 campaign with the Timberwolves where he averaged 5.0 points and 2.7 rebounds across 16.6 minutes a contest.
Tolliver, who can provide solid shooting from the outside, will likely serve as Terry Stotts' backup forward. He is expected to stretch the floor and give the backcourt tandem of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum enough space to operate.
Portland has been big players in free agency this offseason. Recently, they entered a four-team trade with the Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers and LA Clippers wherein they flipped Meyers Leonard and Maurice Harkless in exchange for big man Hassan Whiteside.
They lost Enes Kanter as he signed with the Boston Celtics, but they've re-signed Rodney Hood to a two-year, $16 million deal. Before the free agency began, they traded Evan Turner to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Kent Bazemore.
