Per CNN, fans at a Portland Trail Blazers game were afraid of contracting measles after an outbreak was announced in the state of Oregon.
This was because a person infected with measles had gone to a Blazers home game in Oregon last week. This was during an outbreak of the horrible disease that has left a confirmed 32 people sick this month in Washington State.
The people who are confirmed with the illness went to Portland's airport, as well as a host of other public places across Washington's Clark County. Eighteen of the people sick had not been immunized.
The Washington County officials put this out in a statement:
“Public Health is continuing to identify and contact potential measles cases, and identify possible locations of public exposure.”
The Blazers this season have played fairly well in the West. On the shoulders of Damian Lillard, the team has put together one of the best offenses in the entire league.
So far this season, Lillard has averaged 26.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game while shooting 44.6 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from beyond the arc. He's so vital to their offense. He's an amazing pick and roll ball-handler and is one of the best half court players in the NBA.
C.J. McCollum is also one of the best spot-up shooters in the league, and Jusuf Nurkic has become a reliable rim protector and rim runner.
The Blazers are now 29-20 on the season and sit 4th in the NBA's Western Conference. They will face off next against the Phoenix Suns at home.
