Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum took to Twitter to speak a bit about the 2020 general election on Wednesday.

President Donald Trump falsely claimed late Tuesday night he felt Democrats were trying to “steal” the election and later suggested he would proceed to the courts to contest a potential loss to Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

McCollum suggested Trump's demand for some kind of recount in battleground states — notably in Wisconsin — would simply result in him losing twice:

Former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker also addressed the vote count on Twitter, calling a 20,000-vote deficit a “high hurdle” to overcome in a mere recount.

Walker also cited recounts in past elections in having a relatively minimal impact:

McCollum has been active in the political sphere in recent weeks.

The Blazers star joined fellow NBA stars Donovan Mitchell and Tobias Harris in an interview with Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

McCollum, who wore “Education Reform” on the back of his jersey during the NBA restart, said during that interview he believes education holds the key to mobilization and social impact:

“I think one of the reasons why we’re here is to have those types of conversations to drive education to the masses because a lot of times, people don’t feel like they can create change,” McCollum said, via Lindsey Wisniewski of NBC Sports Northwest.

The country is still awaiting the final results of the general election, with votes still being counted in numerous battleground states.

McCollum and other NBA players are among those chiming in on social media as they also await the results.
