Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard CJ McCollum recently married his longtime girlfriend, Elise Esposito.
2020 has been a terrible year for a lot of people, so it's great to see CJ McCollum and Elise Esposito tie the knot. Blazers nation is certainly happy for CJ, who is the second-best player on the team behind superstar point guard Damian Lillard.
During the 2019-20 regular season, McCollum averaged 22.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the field, 37.9 percent from beyond the arc and 75.7 percent from the free-throw line.
The Blazers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in the first-ever NBA play-in game at Walt Disney World to clinch the eighth seed in the Western Conference. Portland beat the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 of the first round of the 2020 playoffs, but Los Angeles won four games in a row after that to eliminate the Blazers in five games.
Against the Lakers, McCollum averaged 23.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He shot 44.4 percent overall, 27.1 percent from the 3-point line and 68.2 percent from the charity stripe.
McCollum and Lillard are under contract with the Blazers for the long-term, so the team is certainly still looking to build around them. Carmelo Anthony becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason. It will be interesting to see if the Blazers look to re-sign the former New York Knicks All-Star once free agency begins.
Since getting drafted by the Blazers, McCollum has compiled averages of 18.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists in the regular season.
