Damian Lillard let Dillon Brooks have it on Friday, as things got chippy in the Portland Trail Blazers hosting of the Memphis Grizzlies at Moda Center. Not even two quarters have passed in the heated ball game, but Dame already unloaded some unpleasantries towards the scrappy Grizzlies swingman.

With less than five minutes before halftime, the six-time All-Star was gearing up for some free throws.

The usually calm and collected superstar was visibly agitated as he unloaded a verbal assault on Brooks. Although it's unclear what was said between the two, it's safe to assume Lillard was not pleased.

Lillard and Brooks' thrash talk has begun as early as the first period. By the looks of it, it will continue until the final horn of this testy game sounds. Brooks, of course, has the unfortunate job of trying to stop the red-hot Lillard in this game.

The Grizz 3-and-D specialist does not back away from anyone, even from a superstar of Lillard's stature. Then again, he might need to be careful not to poke the bear too much. Lillard has been notching 28.6 points on 43.9 percent shooting from the field and 37.5 percent from deep entering the contest versus Memphis. Damian Lillard has been a stealth MVP candidate throughout the season, carrying the Blazers amid a myriad of injuries.

We've all been witnesses to how Damian Lillard uses slights as determination to play better. Remember how he went bonkers for Portland inside the bubble last season? For sure, Brooks and the Grizzlies don't want any part of that.
