Portland Blazers main man Damian Lillard is the latest NBA star to express his support for DeMar DeRozan after his unceremonious departure from the Toronto Raptors.

Lillard took to Instagram to share his displeasure on how DeRozan's trade to the San Antonio Spurs went down. The  6-foot-3 point guard posted a very message-appropriate photo, with a short, yet incredibly strong statement.

Damian Lillard is undoubtedly referencing the unsavory business side of the NBA here, wherein players are at times treated as nothing more than movable pawns in a game that is ultimately dictated by the almighty dollar.

More than most, Lillard feels DeRozan's pain after the latter was unsympathetically shipped off by a franchise that he remained loyal to for almost a decade. Despite being in the league for only six seasons compared to DeRozan's nine, Lillard is likewise a one-team man, having spent his entire career in Portland, after being drafted sixth overall by the Blazers in 2012.

DeMar DeRozan was once considered the cornerstone of the Raptors franchise, and not many could have predicted that the organization was willing to part ways with their star player. However, being swept in the second round of the Playoffs after a stellar regular season apparently caused a change of heart.

For his part, Lillard too is in a comparable scenario. Despite impressively securing the number three seed in a highly-competitive Western Conference, the Blazers also suffered a humiliating sweep at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round.

Regardless of all that he has done for the franchise, Lillard was still inescapably held liable by some supporters and critics alike. Several trade rumors surfaced, and suddenly, question marks began to cloud his untouchable status.

The 28-year-old Oakland, California native still has three years to go before his five-year $140 million deal expires. There's still a long way to go, and a lot can happen between now and 2021.
