Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard didn't score in the first quarter of Game 7 against the Denver Nuggets, marking just the second time in his playoff career he has failed to score in the opening quarter:

Lillard missed all five of his field goal attempts, including three 3-pointers, in the first quarter. The Blazers trailed 29-17 after the quarter. He finally made his first field goal midway through the second quarter as his team worked on a comeback attempt.

Lillard is coming off a terrific Game 6 performance to keep Portland alive. The Blazers star poured in 32 points on 11-of-23 shooting overall and 6-of-13 on 3-pointers. His terrific outside shooting performance in that game broke him out out of a long-range slump in this series, but he's still trying to find his outside stroke in Game 7.

Portland is hoping Lillard will pull a Stephen Curry and break out after a rough start. Curry infamously put up a goose egg in the first half of the Golden State Warriors' series-clinching victory over the Houston Rockets on Friday, only to follow that up with a 33-point explosion in the second half.

Damian Lillard and the Blazers are trying to set up yet another playoff encounter with Stephen Curry and the Warriors with a victory over the Nuggets in this do-or-die Game 7.
