Portland Trail Blazers superstar point guard Damian Lillard got engaged in Chicago this All-Star weekend.

Lillard is currently out with a groin strain, but that didn't stop him from popping the question to his long-time girlfriend Kay’La Hanson, via Jamie Hudson of NBC Sports Northwest:

The Trail Blazers five-time All-Star asked his longtime girlfriend Kay’La Hanson at a private party filled with family and friends.

The two have been dating since their college days at Weber State.

Lillard’s mom, Gina Johnson, shared videos on her Instagram of what looks like a star-studded engagement party.

From the IG videos it was fun to see a few of Lillard’s former teammates are in attendance. Evan Turner and Tim Frazier are in on the celebration, while Lillard’s close friend and mentor, former Blazers assistant coach David Vanterpool is there as well. Chicago rapper Common was also in attendance.

Dame won’t play in the All-Star Game or compete in the 3-Point Contest due to his latest injury, and he was replaced by Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker in both competitions. It's worth noting that he will still rap on Saturday though, and Chicago fans are certainly looking forward to seeing Lillard on the mic.

The 29-year-old guard is averaging 29.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 7.9 assists on the season for the Blazers. He’s shooting 46.0 percent from the field, 39.3 percent from beyond the arc and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Damian Lillard and the Blazers are 25-31 on the season. They are in ninth place in the Western Conference standings after reaching the Western Conference Finals last season. Portland will have to go on a crazy run in the second half of the season to replicate their success from the 2018-19 campaign.
