Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard is pretty happy with how his team has fared inside the Disney World bubble. Recently, the All-Star point guard doubled down on his earlier statement about not bothering to take part in the bubble if the team knew that they had nothing to play for anyway.

As it stands, Portland has built up quite some momentum, and are closing in on the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. According to Lillard, this was exactly what he was saying previously.

“Y'all know that I'm always optimistic and always see the best in situations like this, and it's why I said what I said a few months ago when I said, ‘If we don't have a chance to compete for a playoff spot, I don't want to play,'” Lillard said, via Royce Young of ESPN. “Because I knew if we did have a chance to play for a playoff spot, it would look something like it looks right now.”

“I knew that once we got here, we'd be one of the teams that would take advantage of it,” Lillard said, “and so far we have.”

It's official. Lillard is a prophet that can see into the future.

The Blazers notched another win on Thursday, taking down the mighty Denver Nuggets, 125-115. This was thanks in large part to Lillard himself, who drained a career-high-tying 11 3-pointers for a game-high 45 points.

Portland has now won three out of their eight seeding games inside the bubble, and are now just half a game behind the eighth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies. Lillard and company will be back in action on Saturday as they take on another Western Conference contender in the Los Angeles Clippers.
