Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard believes that his team had the “steal” of the 2019 NBA Draft on Thursday: Nassir Little.

The Trail Blazers managed to nab Nassir Little with their 25th pick in the draft. It came as a surprise to many that the former North Carolina standout dropped to that spot. He was previously considered one of the top prospects in this year's draft.

Lillard believes that the 19-year-old forward will prove his doubters wrong and make teams that passed on him regret their decisions. The superstar point guard said on a video posted on Instagram that Little's “pull-up going left is crazy.”

Little did not have jaw-dropping stats in his lone year with the North Carolina Tar Heels. In 36 games, the Florida native averaged 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in 18.2 minutes per game.

While his numbers pale in comparison to the stats of the top picks in the draft, North Carolina coach Roy Williams also believes the Blazers got a steal in the draft. He admitted he was surprised that his former player fell late in the first round, but he expressed confidence that Little has a great career ahead of him.

“I was dying for Nassir,” Williams said via Pat James of Daily Tar Heel. “That's a hard situation to be in the green room with so many other players, maybe too many. But you never know what teams are thinking. I know one thing, he is the absolute steal of the draft.”
