No matter how close he is to being “washed,” it cannot be denied that it makes for good content to have NBA icon Carmelo Anthony back in the NBA. Making matters even better is that Anthony is playing a major role on a team — the Portland Trail Blazers — that is still angling for the playoffs in the Western Conference.

Melo is beloved among his peers and his fans, as this video after the Blazers fell to the Pacers dictates:

The pure and utter joy on this fan’s face makes it clear that the 35-year-old veteran still means a lot to the NBA.

The 10-time All-Star forward has started in all 43 games he has played in with Portland and is putting up decent numbers (15.5 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 1.5 APG, 0.8 SPG) after a disappointing previous two seasons in Oklahoma City and Houston.
