After signing a $72 million contract with the Houston Texans this offseason, Brock Osweiler has put up mediocre numbers through the first three games this year. He has thrown three touchdowns and four interceptions while completing just under 60 percent of his passes.

There is still plenty of time for Osweiler to improve those numbers of course, but analysts and fans alike are already wondering if Brock was overpaid. In fact, those questions were asked even before he'd thrown a pass in Houston.

John Elway and the Denver Broncos notably declined to meet Osweiler's rising price tag in free agency, and they've been just fine with former seventh round pick Trevor Siemian at the helm.

Osweiler's struggles hit a low during a blowout loss to the New England Patriots on Thursday night football. With the entire nation watching, the Texans offense dropped an egg on the scoreboard, only proliferating the criticism of Osweiler's play.

Not that Brock cares. In fact, he finds it funny.

From John McClain of the Houston Chronicle:

“I think that's hilarious, to be honest with you,” he said. “The critique comes from a whole lot of people that don't know my read on that play. They've probably never actually sat in an offensive meeting in their life, let alone a quarterback meeting in the National Football League.

“That's why I don't look at Twitter. That's why – no offense to anybody (media) in here — I don't watch anything. I don't read anything.”

Osweiler did admit that he can make some improvements, but overall, he believes his personal performance in the offense is on the incline:

“I feel like I've done a great job of progressing in this offense,” he said. “I feel like I get better every week.

“I'm very comfortable with my reads. Certainly, I know I need to clean up my ball security issues of having four interceptions through three games, and that's something I will clean up.”
