The Houston Texans and Denver Broncos will face off against one another in a game that features two teams on opposite ends of the spectrum. Despite Denver's struggles, Bill O'Brien spoke highly of Drew Lock, the Broncos' rookie quarterback.

“I studied him coming out of college. I think he’s very smart. I think he’s got an accurate arm,” O’Brien said Tuesday in a conference call with the Denver media. “He’s got good arm strength, makes good decisions. I think he’s got athleticism. He’s able to escape. I think he makes good decisions. That’s what he does.”

The Broncos selected Lock with the 42nd overall pick in this year's draft in hopes he could learn behind Joe Flacco. Unfortunately, a thumb injury caused the first-year quarterback to miss the majority of his rookie campaign.

Nevertheless, Lock was able to make his NFL debut last week against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Missouri product was able to complete 18 of his 28 attempts for 134 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Above all, Lock managed the game well enough to help the Broncos secure their fourth win of the season. Now, Lock will look to improve upon his debut by facing a Houston defense who just gave Tom Brady and the New England Patriots fits in Week 13.

While Lock has plenty to learn, O'Brien understands the abilities that the young quarterback possesses. Even if Denver ends up losing this game, Lock could learn a lot by watching Deshaun Watson on the other side of the field.
