The NFL league year has gone as scheduled thus far despite the ongoing impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Alhough the illness' spread is still preventing players from orchestrating offseason workouts. For example, Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock had hoped to begin throwing sessions with some of his teammates. But Lock has since called off those sessions due to COVID-19.

Lock sat down for an interview with Phil Milani, during which he expressed some concern about doing what is “socially responsible.” V

“It was going to end up being the first couple weeks of April, but I don’t know if that would be socially responsible for us to do that right now,” Lock said in an interview with Phil Milani of the team’s official website. “Depending on how long this goes on, how long they keep us out of the building and whatnot, I’m sure near the end of this we can all get up maybe a couple weeks before we’re all supposed to be back.”

“As of right now, there’s not an exact plan to get us all on an airplane or drive across the country and meet up with each other,” Lock said.

Public health officials have discouraged traveling amid the rampant spread of coronavirus. Which also threw a wrench in teams' ability to administer physicals to players during free agency.

Though the NFL still hopes to start its regular season schedule on time, the inability to hold workouts is sure to have an impact on players around the league.

This is especially true for Lock, whom the Broncos hope can develop into a potential franchise quarterback in 2020.
