The Denver Broncos have been heavily linked to Missouri quarterback Drew Lock for a while now. They were hosting the young signal-caller on a visit last night, and Mike Klis of Denver9News points out that the visit will continue on into today.

Broncos general manager John Elway loves big, strong quarterbacks, and Lock certainly fits the bill. Lock stands at 6'4 228, and has a cannon for an arm. Denver has shown strong interest in Lock since the Senior Bowl, and it hasn't wavered since then.

The Broncos own the tenth overall pick, and most mock drafts still have them taking Lock with that pick. The Broncos traded for Joe Flacco this offseason, but that certainly doesn't preclude them from drafting a quarterback early.

The plan seems to be to go into 2019 with Flacco as the starter, and with a young quarterback of the future learning behind him.

Denver rolled with Case Keenum last year and chose to pass on drafting a quarterback, which they probably regret. Denver realized it's not wise to go with a bridge-type quarterback longterm, and they likely won't repeat the mistake two years in a row.

The rest of Flacco's contract isn't guaranteed, so the Broncos could even theoretically get rid of him before the season if whatever rookie they draft shows well in training camp. Still though, Flacco is likely to be the starter to at least begin the season.

Lock is looking like a sure bet to be taken in the top half of the first round, whether it's by the Broncos or someone else.

He'll reportedly visit the Chargers in Los Angeles after he gets done with the Broncos.
