After a couple of disappointing seasons following Peyton Manning's fitting farewell in Super Bowl 50, the Denver Broncos are seemingly determined to right the ship. General manager John Elway made a splash in NFL free agency landing veteran quarterback Case Keenum and would like to give him the weapons to succeed next season and beyond.

Despite the rumors, the Broncos have held onto wideouts Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Both players had their contract options picked up and now there's potential to bring back a familiar face to bolster an already talented receiving corps. Eric Decker is open to returning to Denver where he had his most success in the NFL up to this point in his career, via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

“Listen, there’s no holdup on my end,” Decker told Brandon Stokley on 104.3 The Fan, via Nicki Jhabvala. “So whoever you need to call for me, whoever you need to reach out to, please do. Not only is the team one of the greatest organizations in the NFL, but just the community. This is home for us. It’s still a big part of us because, again, we started our lives here. This is where I got drafted. This is where I had both of my kids and going to have my third kid. so it just means a lot to me. So obviously it’s a desirable place, but again, everything’s got to align. The stars have to kind of align for it to all work. But I’m very receptive to make it happen.”

At this point, there's no telling how the Keenum experiment will work out in Denver. Keenum burst back on the scene during his lone season with the Minnesota Vikings and Elway was willing to gamble on the veteran leading the team for at least the next two seasons.

Although Decker is coming off a disappointing stint with the Tennessee Titans, the 31-year-old could resurrect his career where it began. Denver selected Decker in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft and he went on to have a lot of success in three of the four seasons he played with the Broncos.

The real question for Denver is whether they want to add another wideout. Decker seems like a logical choice and it seems that he's not drawing a lot of interest around the league meaning they may be able to get him with a team-friendly deal.
