Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock is expected to miss two to six weeks with a sprained AC joint, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Lock sustained the apparent shoulder injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Lock was one of many on the injury-riddled list in Week 2 that saw more than 15 players go down from various injuries. The Broncos would go on to lose to the Steelers, further cementing their losing season thus far with a 0-2 record.

Lock enjoyed a decent rookie campaign with a 89.7 passer rating completing 64.1 percent of his passes for 1,020 yards. He'd only completed 1 of 5 passes on 20 yards prior to his injury Sunday. He finished Week 1's loss to the Titans with a 95 percent passer rating though, completing 66.7 percent of his passes.

Backup quarterback Jeff Driskel was heavily relied upon after Lock's departure, completing 18 of 34 passes for two touchdowns and one interception as well. He'll be starting for at least two weeks, which may be all that Denver can afford from a second string coming off a 75.3 passer rating in 2019 with the Detroit Lions. Driskel will have to continue to improve his passing game to at least maintain the status the Broncos have become adjusted to with Lock in the fold.

Denver will have to see more production also from its backfield with Melvin Gordon III, who had 70 yards on 19 attempts with one receiving touchdown.

What possibly may make matter worse is the immediate future for the Broncos in Week 3 as they face the Tom Brady–led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady recently found his groove in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers which could prove trouble for a discombobulated Broncos club.
