Denver Broncos star wide receiver Jerry Jeudy suffered a scary ankle injury in a Week 1 victory over the New York Giants. Jeudy was carted off and diagnosed with a high ankle sprain.

Based on Jeudy’s Instagram post on Monday morning, though, the Broncos wide receiver might not be missing too much time:

Jeudy will almost certainly miss some time given the nature of the injury, but if he’s only going to be out for a few weeks or so, that would be a huge plus. Denver had high expectations for the young wideout after a solid rookie campaign in 2020.

The Broncos wide receiver caught 52 passes for 856 yards and three touchdowns in his debut season. Sunday against the Giants, he hauled in six passes for 72 yards before getting hurt in the third quarter on a 20-yard reception. His right leg got pinned as he got tackled by a Giants defender.

Jeudy’s injury was a bummer on such a great day for Denver. Teddy Bridgewater looked terrific in his Broncos debut, completing 28 out of 36 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns. He didn’t turn the ball over and was sacked just twice.

Meanwhile, the running game also had a lot of success. Melvin Gordon rushed for 101 yards and had a 70-yard touchdown run. Bridgewater had three carries for 19 yards. In all, Denver racked up 420 yards of offense in the 27-13 victory.

The Broncos are crossing their fingers for good news on Jerry Jeudy, and this IG post brings some optimism.
