The Denver Broncos were able to lure away Vic Fangio during the offseason, hiring the former Chicago Bears defensive coordinator to be their latest head coach. Fangio’s resume is an extremely great one, and now that he’s coaching another ferocious defense, one of the leaders in the clubhouse says he’s already learning.

Speaking to media after the Bronco’s final training camp practice on Saturday (via Jon Heath of Broncos Wire), superstar linebacker Von Miller praised Fangio, saying he could be a professor somewhere if he wasn’t coaching in the league.

“He’s just a great teacher,” Miller said. “I feel like to get to the head coaching spot in the National Football League, you have to be a great teacher. But he’s an elite teacher, excellent teacher, whether it’s breaking down a defense or just simple techniques. He’s a great teacher, and then the guys, all the assistants that he has up under him, my position coach, all the coaches that we have are great teachers as well.

“They definitely know how to relay the message. They definitely know how to coach the proper techniques. They’re great coaches.”

Known for his incredible work behind some of the best defenses in the league, Fangio has worked with the Bears and San Francisco 49ers this decade, where he oversaw two of the leagues best defenses.

Now, he’s ready to make the jump to head coach, and already has the support of some of his best players. If the Broncos defense can regain its form behind Fangio, it might just be enough to shock the NFL and propel them into a postseason run.
