Move over San Francisco. You're not the only NFL organization looking to acquire 2016 First-Team All-Pro cornerback Aqib Talib.

According to Mike Klis of KUSA, John Elway and his Denver Broncos are now “actively shopping” Talib. One such team in the running is his former squad, the New England Patriots.

News surrounding Talib broke on Wednesday when the 49ers emerged as the first team in talks with Denver, via Dianna Russini of ESPN. Nothing has since materialized and it's believed that Talib doesn't want the Bay Area to represent his next home city. In fact, it's believed that Talib prefers his former team, the New England Patriots.

As luck would have it, the Pats are now reportedly in the running for Talib's services.

“I’m told there had been trade conversations going on between the Broncos & the 49ers for Aqib Talib. It doesn’t look like it’s going to get done. Told Talib prefers to be released by Denver so he can chose his next team, his top choice is the New England Patriots per sources.”

Talib, 32, is already pretty old for his position. Considering he was part of the NFL's best defense concluding with a Super Bowl championship a few years ago and earned a First-Team All-Pro nod in 2016, there's enough interest in football for the Broncos to receive something of note in return.

The Cleveland native has qualified for the Pro Bowl five years running and picked off one of his 34 career interceptions in 2017.

Talib is owed $11 million this coming season and $8 million in 2019, all of which is non-guaranteed. This has the league thinking the veteran is after a new deal as well.
