The Cleveland Browns have so far struggled to find any semblance of consistency this season, and it will take a major miracle for them to reach the playoffs in their second year. However, they should get a boost against the Cincinnati Bengals as Baker Mayfield has participated in throwing drills.

The second-year quarterback was uncertain about participating in their upcoming Sunday game against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, recent results show evidence that he should be allowed back to the pocket in time against their state neighbors.

Mayfield, who is dealing with a right-hand injury, was throwing on Thursday, per Pro Football Talk. He did not do so on Wednesday.

While Mayfield still hasn't fully recovered from the injury he sustained in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mayfield is more than happy to play this Sunday against their stately neighbors.

“Mama didn’t raise a wuss,” Mayfield said while admitting playing Sunday will be all about his pain tolerance, per WKYC's Matthew Florjancic.

“Just getting better each day. We’re at walk-through tempo today besides the individual routes that you guys saw, so no need to try and do it today.”

Through 12 games, the former Oklahoma Sooner has notched 2,917 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. While not awful numbers, they only hold a candle in comparison to his historic rookie season.

As an entire team, the Browns need to win their final games of the season to book their ticket to the playoffs. While they're far from making the wildcard rounds at the moment, Mayfield has talented players on his back.
