The opening of a new chapter under new head coach Kevin Stefanski didn't go as expected for the Cleveland Browns. The team was dominated by reigning AFC North division leader Baltimore Ravens from start to finish which ended on a 38-6 demolition job.

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield acknowledged the loss and looks forward to bouncing back on their second game next week:

“Sometimes a wakeup call is pretty good for everybody — a nice punch in the mouth, and that is how we should take it,” Mayfield said, via Cleveland.com. “We should not dwell on it, realize that we just got beat today, they played better than us, look at it, get better, move on and go play the Bengals. That is all we can do.”

Mayfield himself struggled to steer the Browns' offense in the right direction. He went 21-of-39 for a total of 189 yards along with a scored touchdown and an interception. The Ravens' defensive rotation was also able to limit the Browns' WR duo of Landry and Beckham.

The former tallied 61 yards on 5 receptions while the latter accounted for 22 yards on 3 receptions without a touchdown scored. The only Brown who found himself with a ball on the endzone was tight end David Njoku who also chipped in 50 receiving yards on 3 receptions.

The Browns still have a lot of things to iron out before they get to grab their first win of the season. With an opening game to forget, Baker Mayfield and the rest of his squad are looking to avenge their defeat against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 17.
